Reflections of the message today at NRN -- Principle of the first....

Today has been an awesome day at church!  The good night's rest helped prepare me for time in the presence of the Lord!  Today was different at church.  I had spent many hours in prayer and seeking the Lord before coming to the decision to present an introduction to the message and then used  a video message which ministered to my heart and spirit.

Here are my introductory remarks:

he world is trying to teach the next generation about how to handle finances and it is not working. Jesus mentions the word “mammon” three different times in scripture, and emphasizes that it is absolutely impossible for anyone to serve both God and mammon. Therefore, if we desire to serve God, we must recognize what “mammon” is, and the ways it attempts to invade our thinking and living in this world.

MAMMON is a biblical term, that refers to all material wealth.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.                                                                                              Matthew 6:24  NKJV

“And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.  He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?  And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?  “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other You cannot serve God and mammon.                                                                                   Luke 16:9-13 NKJV
