Instructions for Life
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and
serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for
the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the
thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He
will reject you forever. Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to
build a house for the sanctuary; be courageous and 1 Chronicles
28:9-10
What
was the first instruction you remember receiving as a child?
“Hold
my hand when we cross the street.”
“Always say please and thank you.”
“Listen to what I tell you.”
“Always say please and thank you.”
“Listen to what I tell you.”
All of these instructions came from people who love us and
wanted us to grow up to be safe and strong. But what about God’s instruction —
what does our Heavenly Father direct us to do and to avoid?
“Instructions for Life” is a six-part message series based
on
1 Chronicles
28:9-16 and the instructions King David
shared with his son Solomon. In these verses we see the
truth found in knowing our faith, serving God alone, seeking God always,
considering God’s desires, being courageous in our faith and acting as God
wishes.
