May we never forget the past and we look into the future.

Today, we commemorate the 14th anniversary of the horrible events on Sept. 11, 2001. It is remarkable how fast the last 14 years have gone by. For most of us, we remember exactly where we were and how we reacted to the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania. 

At 8:46 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:37 a.m. and 10:03 a.m., terrorists broke our hearts and shocked our reality by crashing four planes – three of them into structures that symbolize America – and murdering thousands of our citizens. These events will live long in our memory, both those who witnessed the unspeakable horror, those who watched it and cried from afar.

Sharron and I had driven into the late evening of September 10th, 2001 as we arrived on a rainy night in Topeka, Ks. Before 8:00am the next morning we made our way to our new house in great anticipation of meeting the moving truck with all our earthly belonging within. The truck and crew arrived about 8:30am and we began the process to unload the truck and move into our new home.  We first heard of the events of 9-11 within an hour of meeting the truck and that day became embedded upon our memories forever. 

Today we are thankful for our freedom and the blessings of Almighty God upon us. May we never forget the past and we look into the future. God Bless America!
