The LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent. Exodus 33:11
How many times have you heard or said something to the effect that it sure would be easier to be a Christian if God would just talk to me and tell me what He wants me to do?
Well, guess what? He has and He still does. God speaks to us every time we open up the Bible and every time we pray. That’s right-it’s not a matter of whether or not God speaks. It’s a matter of whether or not we listen…and obey.
God’s Word clearly tells us what is and isn’t sin. His Word clearly tells us what is required of us to receive the gift of salvation available to every single person on earth. His Word tells us every single promise God has made AND proof that He is the ultimate keeper of promises. It’s all right there in black and white.
God speaks to us when we pray. We just have to listen. We have to listen for that inner voice of the Holy Spirit. We have to listen to the encouragements and warnings from other Christians God puts in our lives.
God speaks. Do you listen?
Pray: God, give me an open heart and mind to hear your voice and obey. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
