SUNDAY THOUGHT: This little light of mine......

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven                           - Matthew 5:16

Light is an amazing scientific manifestation of power in its simplest form. It alone can take what's hidden and reveal things unseen that can transform any situation.

Are you aware that this specific light already resides within you?

You are like a light bulb that was created to bring forth illumination and clarity where ever you go. But without a power source, your potential remains dormant and unfulfilled.

God is the only true and pure self-powered source of light that has ever existed. He has chosen us to be his representations of light in this darkened world.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.                                                                                 -  John 8:12

Jesus is our power source and came to give us the ability to shine his light and reveal the truth of the gospel. His light saves us from the curse of sin and death and gives our lives new meaning and purpose.

Once we have chosen by faith to connect ourselves to his source of power. We enter into a relationship and give him full authorization to reside within. In return, he transforms and empowers us to shine forth his light so others can see for themselves his goodness and mercy on display in our lives.

And are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness                                     - Romans 2:19

This task will not be easy and requires dedication and commitment on our part. Those still in darkness will not understand this undiscovered hope within and will disregard the light you shine by example.

But until the spirit of God reveals this mystery to them individually, we must faithfully live in a way that points to him as the true source of light and hope.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God                                                                - 1 Corinthians 4:5

Is your light connected and shining for his glory?
