Preparing for worship on the Second Sunday of Advent - December 7 2014

This morning we are attending the annual Jingle Jam Buffet Breakfast!  It's not too late to join us!

Breakfast is served beginning at 9:00am and followed by a short program.

As we prepare for worship on the Second Sunday of Advent I feel the peace of God about the message that has been marinating in my spirit this week.  Plan to bring a friend and join us for for an awesome day in the Lord!  Here is the planned order of worship for tomorrow:

We begin with a warm welcome to our church on the Second Sunday of Advent . Then we pause for the lighting of the Advent Candles for today.

Now we sing our praise to the Lord!

It's time to greet one another and make new friends...

Today is December 7th.  Seventy Three years ago, on a Sunday morning, the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Over 2000 people were killed and over 1,000 people injured in the surprise attack that drew the United States into World War II.

This is a national day of remembrance and we plan to pause during our time of communion to pray for those men and women who have given their lives in sacrifice for our freedom and to offer thanks to God for His gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ!

Now the preaching of God's Word as I present the second message in this year's Advent series.  Check back tomorrow for the reflection of the message.  I anticipate the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon the words placed in my spirit for tomorrow.

We move toward the close of our worship by being reminded of opportunities of service and connection over this coming month.  Then we bring our financial gifts to the Lord as we close our time together with a song:
