She’s Invited to Throw Out the First Pitch. But She’s Stopped by the Message on the Ball…

Three years ago, Cameron Hill was one of the EMTs that helped save Melissa Dohme’s life. The other night, he asked her to make his own life complete with a surprise proposal that must have been written by fate.

As the Blaze reports, in 2012, Melissa was stabbed 32 times by an ex-boyfriend. After her recovery, she worked to raise awareness of domestic violence. It was in connection to her work in the community that Melissa was invited to throw out the opening pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game.

But before she could get into her wind-up, Cameron was there with a very important question.

Melissa once told the Tampa Bay Times that Cameron had even changed how she saw that one terrible night long ago — now not as terrible because she had met him.

“He’s the one I’ve been waiting for. My fairy tale,” she said.

Now they will both get their well-deserved happily-ever-after.
