On this date in 1978

Sharron Marie Wiltshire and
Richard W. Hudgens were declared
husband and wife
by Rev. Forbis Kivett
as family and
friends gathered
in the sanctuary of
St. Paul Wesleyan Church in Charlotte, NC.

Though in many ways it seems almost like yesterday - it is with a deep gratitude that we celebrate today what God has done! The special gift I gave to my wife Sharron today was that I did not talk about anything having to do with the church. Our entire focus for today was spending time with each other. We enjoyed a great day and a fantastic meal this evening.

I have kidnapped Sharron to an undisclosed destination. We plan to arrive at the District Assembly for the NC District of the Church of the Nazarene early Thursday afternoon.

Sharron and I are aware that we have spent more years together than we did separately. As we reflect over the past 30 years we are overwhelmed with the
sense of thankfulness for each other and for our marriage.

Proverbs 18:22 says: "Find a good spouse, you find a good life— and even more: the favor of God!"

We have found this true in our life. And yes ~ this is a trustworthy saying.
