A thought on prayer - Pray without ceasing.

Constantly, we are reminded in the Word of God to pray continually, without ceasing, and to give thanks in all things.

As believers we are to cast our cares on Jesus, so that our lives are not full of anxiety and fear.

Paul exhorts us in Philippians 4:6

New International Version
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

New Living Translation
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done

When we approach things in our lives with fear and anxiety, it dulls our spiritual senses and distorts our ability to properly interact with the Lord.  The Holy Spirit speaks to us and leads us by the inner witness on the inside.  Whenever we allow fear and sin to dominate our lives and our conscious, our sensitivity to hear His voice will fade.  Guarding our hearts and keeping our conscious clean is a very important discipline in our relationship with the Lord.

How we pray is just as important as what we pray.  If our hearts are right before God and man then He will hear us when we pray.  Our attitude and interaction with each other weighs in the outcome of our effectiveness in prayer just as much as our interaction with the Lord does.

So commit to praying continually and to give thanks for all things.
