Reflection from my message today at NRN

Here is a short reflection from my message today at NRN:

Faith is the Victory

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the  world.         John 4:4

CONFIDENT    LOVE

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.                                1 John 4:7-8

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.                                 1 John 4: 9-12

CONFIDENT    FAITH
This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.                                    1 John 5:2-5

CONFIDENT    PRAYER
A confident faith leads to confident prayer.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.                                                  1 John 5:14-15

John 14:13-14 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. “
Eph. 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
Phil. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
John 16:23 Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.
And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.                                                   1 John 5:20b
